Stamp Body Mind Spirit |
|
Stamp tuned into healthy living and spiritual matters during the latter years of the 1960's. He was in Italy working for Fellini on Toby Dammit when he first discovered that his stomach pains were caused by inappropriate diet, this led to long term vegetarianism and diet exploration. In 1994 he launched The Stamp Collection food company formed with his friend Elizabeth Buxton to cater for people with wheat and gluten intolerance. It was also during the late 1960's in Italy that Stamp was introduced to the enlightened philospher Krishnamurti and Vanda Scaravelli - who later taught Stamp yoga and breathing. In the 1970's Stamp travelled and lived in the East. He worked on an organic farm in Ibiza, and spent a short time in the ashram of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. Stamp was fascinated by Rajneesh from an actor's perspective. However, Krishnamurti had far greater impact on Stamp's thinking with regard to living and exploring one's inner life. Much of Stamp's explorations and studies are largely undocumentated, it is afterall a private affair, though occassionaly he may make reference to it in interviews. Physically Stamp has always kept in good shape. Besides having practised yoga posture, breathing, and cleansing techniques, Stamp has also used the Pilates system. Similar to an aspect of yoga, Pilates is concerned with bringing about balance and realignment of the body. He has also regularly practiced Tai-Chi. Breathing exercises and good diet form part of his daily regime. Diet - Exercise - Philosophy |
